Monday, May 18, 2009:
Gator Motorsports has returned from the 2009 FSAE Michigan competition held at Michigan International Speedway with a placement of 21st out of the 120 international teams registered. To see complete standing check out sae.org. Pictures from the event are located here.

Friday, April 24, 2009:
Gator Motor sports invited 7th and 8th graders from Bolles Middle School in Jacksonville to the shop. The students, who are part of the middle school’s math club and robotics team, were naturals at the A World in Motion activity, and were very interactive during a tour of the shop and a overview of our program. Gator Motorsports would like to thank Aan from Schlumberger for speaking at our April General Body Meeting. At our monthly general body meeting SAE members were informed about the program and upcoming events followed by an information session about Schlumberger. Monday, March 30, 2009: Gator Motorsports has been working closely with the faculty and staff on Santa Fe College to use their dynamometer tune our engine parameters. See Article.
Sunday, March 22, 2009:
Gator Motorsports hosted an outreach day to a Boy Scouts of America Webelos den from Gainesville. The group of 4th grade boys took a tour of the shop, learned about gear ratios, and built and competed eclectic toy cars with SAE’s World in Motion kits.
Saturday, March 21, 2009: UF Society of Automotive Engineers attended ASME’s Swampfest. SAE displayed the Baja car at the annual car show to students and Gainesville residents.
Tuesday, March 18, 2009:
Gator Motorsports was lucky enough to get a visit from Aan Surati from Schlumberger stopped by the shop for a tour and to take a seat in the formula car. As always it was pleasure to have one of our sponsors come and check in with us.
Thursday, March 11, 2009:
Gator Motorsports spent their spring break tanning in the Florida sun on the track. During our spring break testing Gainesville News 20 came out and filmed a news feature on our program.

Saturday, Feb 21, 2009: Gator Motorsports, the UF Society of Automotive Engineers, had the honor of representing the College of Engineering at the Alumni Association’s Back to College weekend. Team members gave a presentation on the formula and baja programs and the international competitions we attend to the 119 UF alumni. The “Championship teams, Championship Solutions” presentation gave us the opportunity share our program one on one with alumni.
Wednesday, Feb 18, 2009:
The Society of Automotive Engineers celebrated national engineering week by participating in the 2009 E-week Engineering Fair. Members gave up their Tuesday and Wednesday to tabling with the Baja car and gives tours of the shop to local elementary and middle school students.
Sunday, Feb 15, 2009: The Society of Automotive Engineers placed fourth in the annual Benton Engineering Council’s Engineering Bowl. SAE made it to the game show finials round for the second year in a row. Congratulations to our team members: Lori Harrington, Adam Glintz, Hugh Pun, and Josh Gordon.
Thursday, Feb 12, 2009: Gator Motorsports would like to give a huge thanks to Solidworks for giving us the opportunity of attending Solidworks World. The Gator Motorsports team, and 4300 other professionals from around the world, attended this year’s annual Solidworks user’s conference in Orlando, Florida. The weekend was a great honor for our society and a great opportunity to learn, network and showcase how we use Solidworks.

Saturday, Jan 31, 2009: UF Society of Automotive Engineers and UF Society of Women Engineers enjoyed a Saturday afternoon together at a movie potluck social. Special thanks to David's Pit BBQ for providing dinner.
Tuesday, Jan 27, 2009: UF Society of Automtive Engineers, Gator Motorsports hosted a New Student Shop Day. UF students came out to learn about our program and our cars. Students were broken up into small groups and made their way around the shop watching welding, mill, lathe, CNC, and solid works demonstrations.

Gator Motorsports hosted the first meeting of the spring semester on Thursday, January 22nd. Thanks to everyone who came out and we hope to see you at New Student Shop Day. Special thanks to John Lund and Beef 'O' Brady's on 43rd street for donating wings!

Gator Motorsports celebrated our Gator pride by showcasing the Baja and Formula cars and participating in the Alumni Homecoming BBQ, as we anticipate the homecoming football game against the Kentucky Wildcats.
Friday, Oct 24, 2008:
Gator Motorsports participated in the University of Florida's Homecoming weekend by hosting a float for the annual parade and showcasing both the 2008 Baja and Formula cars at the Engineering Alumni BBQ.
Monday, Oct 13, 2008: Today Gator Motorsports visited Ivor Wigham of the European Rally School in Keystone Heights to introduce our program and visit the facilities. We are looking forward to our continued partnership with ERS.
Tuesday, October 7, 2008:
Gator Motorsports hosted GatorTRAX this past weekend. Approximately 60 young students were introduced to basic principles of automotive design. This session focused specifically on gear ratios and electric vehicles. The students were also given a tour of our facilities. Pictures from GatorTRAX
