Phil French
Current Employer:

Current Position:
Vehicle Dynamics Engineer
Gator Motorsports Positions Held:
1993 President, 1994 Formula Team Captain
Phil French joined the UF FSAE team in the fall of 1991, served as chapter president in 1992/1993, and served as Formula team leader for the 1994 car. As team leader in 1994, Phil's team was able to complete and test the car a day or two before leaving for the competition (a UF first) and finished 5th overall, in spite of a poorly functioning injection system and clutch. This was by far the best UF finish to date, and remained the UF benchmark for six years, until the 2000 team finished 4th. After graduating with a Masters in Mechanical Engineering in 1995, Phil moved to Michigan to work at Ford Motor Company. While at Ford, Phil has completed the FCG program, and worked in several vehicle development positions, including NVH and vehicle dynamics. Phil took over Ford sponsorship duties for the UF team in 1997, and began recruiting for Ford at UF in 1999. |
