Tuesday June 20, 2007: Baja is back after placing 5th at the 2007 Baja SAE Midwest competition in Rochester, New York. Highlights from competition include 5th place in endurance, 11th in design, and 12th in cost. Thanks to everyone who supports Gator Motorsports and the Baja team!

Tuesday June 20, 2007: Congrats to Glendon Walker II for being selected as Gator Motorsports Member of the Month for May! Glendon worked hard on our Presentation event, nabbing a 9th place finish in the event.

Sunday May 20, 2007: The results are in - the Gator Motorsports Formula Team placed 6th at this year's Formula SAE competition held at the Ford Proving Grounds in Romeo, Michigan. Highlights include 9th in presentation, 9th in acceleration, 7th in autocross, and 9th in endurance. Thanks to all our sponsors, supporters, and alumni for your help and dedication over the past year.

Tuesday May 15, 2007: Greetings from Michigan, the Great Lakes State! The UFSAE Gator Motorsports formula team has been busy testing the car at Michigan State University. Testing at MSU help get the car prepared for the Formula SAE competition in Detroit. Many thanks to our friends at State Racing for allowing us to use both their track and their shop. Saturday May 5, 2007: Gator Motorsports held its annual unveiling event, which was a great success! Family, friends, and faculty members showed up to be the first to see the 2007 cars! Thanks to all who came out and made the event a sucess! |

Monday April 2, 2007: A middle-school group stopped by the shop today as part of their tour of UF Engineering facilites. They saw some of the equipment we use and were shown the formula and baja cars. You can see pictures from the event here. |

Wednesday March 14, 2007: SAE International put Gator Motorsports on the front page on the A World in Motion newsletter for our Teen Zone field trip in January. UFSAE President Daniel Herrera was qutoed in the newsletter as saying "“AWIM projects have definitely been an asset to the team’s efforts to promote the fundamentals of engineering to future generations. We look forward to continuing a partnership with SAE."

Friday March 2, 2007: Luther Lloyd has been chosen as UFSAE Gator Motorsports Member of the Month for February. Luther, a first-year member, has contributed many hours of valuable time to ensure that this year's preliminary design report is as good as possibile. Congratulations, Luther! |
Thursday March 1, 2007: The UFSAE Gator Motorsports team was recently involved in Benton Engineering Council's Engineer Fair. At E-Fair, elementary through high school students are invited to see the different types of engineering, as well as the numerous engineering societies that exist on campus. Gator Motorsports, along with the Mechanical and Aerospace department, received a third-place award for best overall booth. Check out some pictures of the event.

| Friday January 19, 2007: A local afterschool program, Teen Zone, stopped by the shop today as part of A World In Motion project. They toured our facilities, sat in the Baja car, and built and raced cars of their own! We thank SAE Foundation and Siemens for helping as make these projects a reality. Thursday January 18, 2007: The first SAE Gator Motorsports meeting of the semester is was a huge success! Thanks to everyone who came out to see what the teams are up to.
